Step-by-step itinerary

Moroccan cooking and market visit

  • Visit local Souk with Experience Leader
  • Walk past American Legation and Gran Teatro Cervantes
  • See historic Teatro Cervantes
  • Attend Moroccan Cooking Experience at 106 Rue de la Plage

The experience

Three hours covers the whole arc: you start at the Souk with your Experience Leader, walking past landmarks like the American Legation and Gran Teatro Cervantes while sourcing fresh ingredients for the meal you'll cook. The market is where the community shops and where you'll see what goes into a Moroccan kitchen. From there you head to the ferran, the shared community oven where bread gets baked, then upstairs to Blue Door at 106 Rue de la Plage for the hands-on part.

At the cooking stations, you learn to make tagine and traditional Moroccan bread from scratch, and how to serve and enjoy mint tea the way it's meant to be. Your Experience Leader works alongside you at each step. This is not a demonstration you watch from the side. The class builds toward lunch: you eat the tagine and salads you've cooked, drink the tea you've prepared, and finish with coffee. Bottled water and snacks are included throughout.

The whole experience stays small and manageable. Children from three years old can join, and if you have food allergies, let the operator know when you book so they can adjust what you prepare.

Is this one for you?You cook alongside your Experience Leader at shared stations, not watching from the side, so this suits anyone who wants to actually make the food rather than just taste it. The three-hour arc (market, oven, kitchen, meal) means you understand where ingredients come from and how the community cooks, not just the recipe.
