The experience

The morning starts at a local market where you pick the ingredients you'll use in the cooking lesson. A professional chef walks you through five dishes (pastilla, chicken tagine, kifta tagine, royal couscous, and traditional homemade bread with mint tea) teaching the techniques as you work. You're not watching a demonstration. You're making each one. After cooking, you sit down to eat what you've prepared.

The afternoon shifts to sightseeing. A private van takes you through Tangier's medina and old town, past the souks and the Berber farmacy, then out to the coastal landmarks: Cap Spartel where the Atlantic meets the Mediterranean, sea caves, Perdicaris Park, the California district, and the king's palace. A camel ride is included as part of the route. The guide narrates throughout, and the driver handles all the navigation and timing so the day holds together without you planning the stops or managing transport between them.

The class runs eight hours total, with pickup from your hotel or port included. Coffee and tea are provided alongside the meal. Public transportation options exist nearby if you prefer to meet at the cooking location instead of arranging a pickup.
