The experience
The experience starts where Tangier cooks actually shop. Your guide picks you up and takes you to the daily market, where you'll select the fresh produce and proteins you want to use. You'll also stop at a traditional Berber pharmacy to see how local spices work and why they matter to the food, not as a lecture, but as the kind of knowledge a family cook uses every day. Then you head to the guide's house.
In the kitchen, you become the one doing the work. You'll prepare tagine, couscous and the local mint tea from scratch, learning how to layer flavors and combine spices the way a Tangier native does. Your guide teaches as you cook, not before or after. When everything is ready, you sit down and eat what your hands made.
The class runs four hours total and includes pickup from your hotel or a meeting point you choose. Your guide speaks English, Spanish, Italian or Arabic. Pick the language when you book. Dietary needs like vegetarian, vegan or gluten-free cooking are no problem. Just note them at checkout and the guide will adjust the menu.

Is this one for you?The four-hour commitment leaves room for other activities in your day. A morning class means you're free by early afternoon, or an afternoon slot works if you've spent the morning elsewhere. It's long enough to shop, learn and eat without rushing, but short enough to fit around the rest of your Tangier itinerary.

Live guide in English, Spanish, Italian and Arabic.
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Child (under 18).

You'll prepare tagine, couscous and mint tea. The tagine and couscous are the core of the class. The specific proteins and vegetables depend on what you choose at the market that morning.

The market visit is included in the four-hour timeframe. The morning starts at the market, then moves to the pharmacy stop, then to the kitchen and lunch.
What happens if I have dietary restrictions?
Tell the operator at booking: vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and other restrictions are all accommodated. The guide will adjust the recipes and ingredients you pick at the market.
Will I be cooking alone or with other people?
This is a private class, so it's just you and your guide in the family kitchen. If you're traveling with others, they cook alongside you.
