The experience
The class starts at the souk, where you'll pick out the ingredients for the meal you're about to cook. You're not just buying what's on a list. You're learning what goes into a Moroccan kitchen and how a local family shops for dinner. Then you head to the home, where the mother who runs the class will walk you through each dish step by step. She has over 30 years of experience cooking for her own large family and has also worked as a professional cook for weddings and community gatherings, so the recipes are real and the techniques are the ones that actually work.
You'll prepare dishes like tagine with chicken, goat or fish, couscous with vegetables or meat, homemade bread, and fresh fruit salad. The class runs about four hours, which gives you time to learn without rushing through the work. Andalusian or Jebli music plays in the background while you cook. Once everything is ready, you sit down and eat the meal you made, with mint tea and sweets served throughout.
The guide speaks English, French or Arabic, so you can book in whichever language works for you. If you have dietary needs (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free), the family can adapt the menu. Infants and small children are welcome, and the home can accommodate specialized infant seats if you need one.

Top questions
What languages is the tour guided in?
Live guide in English, French and Arabic.
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Child (2 to 9 years); Infant (under 2).
What dishes do I actually learn to cook in this class?
You choose from tagine with chicken, goat or fish; couscous with vegetables or meat; homemade bread; fresh fruit salad; and Moroccan mint tea. The mother teaches you her family recipes step by step, and you prepare the full meal yourself.
Do I go to the market, or does the family provide the ingredients?
You start at the local souk to shop for ingredients with the family, so you see how a Moroccan kitchen is stocked and learn what to look for. Then you bring everything back to the home to cook.
How much cooking experience do I need?
No experience is required. The mother has taught many travelers and walks you through each step, whether you've cooked Moroccan food before or never stepped into a kitchen for it.
What happens after we finish cooking?
You sit down together and eat the dishes you prepared, with mint tea and sweets served. It's part of the class, not something you do on your own later.
Can the family accommodate dietary restrictions?
Yes. If you're vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free or have other dietary needs, let them know at booking and they'll adapt the menu to what you can eat.
