The experience

The day starts with pickup at your Marrakech hotel around 10 AM, followed by a drive through the countryside toward Agafay. On the way, you'll pass through the foothills with views of the Atlas Mountains. A stop at a local Argan cooperative breaks up the drive. You'll see how the oil is produced and can browse products made from it before continuing to the desert.

Once you arrive at Agafay, you meet your guide and gear up for the quad bike ride. This is where you take control: you navigate the undulating dunes and desert terrain yourself, steering through the landscape at your own pace while your guide leads the group. The ride covers a mix of sand and harder ground, with panoramic views of both the dunes and the distant mountains. After the quad biking, you'll mount a camel for a short ride through the same terrain: a slower, different way to move through the desert and take in the surroundings.

Lunch happens in the heart of the desert: tagine, couscous, fresh salads and other traditional Moroccan dishes served while you sit in the desert scenery. If you need a vegetarian meal or have other dietary requirements, let the operator know when you book. After lunch, your guide drives you back to Marrakech, arriving at your hotel in the late afternoon.
