A half-day sensory park tour in Playa del Carmen where you navigate more than 50 interactive scenarios designed to challenge how you perceive the world. The experience includes hotel pickup, a live guide in English or Spanish, two circuit routes (Senseless and ConSentido), a zip line, an underground cavern in total darkness, and snacks. Children from age 5 are welcome. High physical fitness is required.

The experience

The tour picks you up from your hotel or a meeting point and takes you to Xenses, the only half-day sensory park in the Riviera Maya. Once there, you choose between two circuits or experience both. The Senseless Circuit includes the Bird Flight zip line, a slide leading into a cavern, and the Lodorama: each one strips away one sense to heighten the others. The ConSentido Circuit takes you through the Path of Dwarves and Giants, the Xensatorium (an underground cavern in total darkness housing simulated ecosystems), El Eden, and Xítrico Garden. All told, the park contains more than 50 scenarios built to disorient and recalibrate how your body interprets space, sound, touch and balance.

An air-conditioned vehicle handles the transport, and the guide (speaking English or Spanish) leads you through the circuits at a pace that lets the disorientation sink in. Lockers, toilets and showers are available on-site. Snacks are included. Additional food and drinks, Wi-Fi, souvenirs and ATM access are available for extra cost. The whole experience runs about five hours, leaving most of the afternoon free if you book an early departure.
