Three dives into underground rivers where light cuts through limestone and caverns open into air-filled domes.

This day trip combines three cenote dives near Tulum in Mexico's Riviera Maya: Casa Cenote, followed by two dives in Dos Ojos cenote. You'll need PADI Open Water certification or higher and must have dived within the last year. A PADI instructor leads the group through the Mayan jungle, providing all rental equipment, lunch and towels; the day runs about five hours and ends around 4pm.

The Experience

Three dives means three different underwater worlds. Casa Cenote opens into cool, clear water beneath overhanging mangroves—light filters down through the canopy and catches the colors of the cenote itself. Then you move to Dos Ojos, where the first dive takes you along the Barbie Line into one of the two limestone eyes; blue light streams down from above into large decorated caverns below. The second Dos Ojos dive, called the Batcave, sends you through formations and up into an air-filled dome before you surface into the sun-lit west eye of the cenote.

You meet at the dive shop in the morning to set up your rental gear, then ride out to the cenotes in a truck. A PADI instructor runs all three dives and stays with your group throughout. Lunch happens between dives, and the operator provides water and snacks as well. Everything you need to dive—tanks, weights, regulators, BCDs—comes with the booking, so you only bring your certification card and a towel. The day wraps around 4pm, giving you the afternoon free after you return.

This trip is built for divers who have logged dives in the past year and hold at least an Open Water card. The cenotes themselves are in the jungle, not at a resort, and the dives move through real cave systems and decorated chambers—not shallow reef or open water. You'll complete a health questionnaire before entering the water, and the operator flags that diving within 18 hours of flying is not recommended. A guide speaks English, Spanish or French depending on the group.
