The Mesoamerican Barrier Reef is the largest in the Northern Hemisphere, and you reach it on day two.

A 2-day scuba diving activity from Playa del Carmen for certified open-water divers, with four dives split between Riviera Maya reefs on day one and Cozumel's Marine Park on day two. A professional guide leads both days. The ferry to Cozumel and lunch on day two are included. Participants must hold current open-water certification or equivalent, and a pool refresher may be required if your last dive was more than a year ago.

The experience

You complete two dives along the Riviera Maya reefs on the first day, working with qualified dive instructors to explore walls, swim-throughs and reef formations while watching the marine life that moves through them. The second day takes you by ferry to Cozumel, where you make two more dives in the Marine Park: part of the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef system that stretches across the Northern Hemisphere. Lunch is provided in Cozumel after the morning dives.

The activity runs on a fixed schedule across the two days, and a professional guide who speaks English or Spanish leads the group through each dive site. Rental gear is available if you need it, charged at USD 27 per dive and paid on-site. Marine park fees of USD 8 per person per day may apply. Pickup is included from your accommodation in the Playa del Carmen area, and the group stays small enough that the guide can watch each diver closely.

What's the difference between the two days of diving?

What happens if I haven't dived in a while?
