You rent a character-themed go-kart and drive it on Tokyo's actual streets, not a closed track. The route takes you through three distinct neighborhoods: the red-brick Tokyo Station building, Ginza's upmarket shopping and dining district, and Akihabara, the anime and gaming hub where the karts fit the surroundings. A professional guide leads the group in their own kart, setting the pace and handling navigation so you focus on driving. The costume comes with the rental, so you're suited up before you leave.

This is a real traffic experience on public roads, which is why the operator requires an International Driving Permit in the 1949 Geneva Convention format, or, if you hold a license from Switzerland, Germany, France, Taiwan, Belgium or Monaco, an official Japanese translation from the Japan Automobile Federation. Drivers from countries outside the convention (China, Indonesia, Mexico, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and others) cannot participate. You'll need to carry your physical permit and passport. Closed footwear is required. Skirts and long dresses aren't advised because of how you sit in the kart.

The group stays small enough that a lead guide can manage safety and sightlines. If you're booking as a group, reserve together rather than individually. The operator cannot guarantee separate bookings will join up on the same departure. The activity isn't recommended for travelers with spinal injuries, pregnancy, or cardiovascular concerns.
