The experience

You choose which Kyoto landmarks to photograph. The guide (a licensed interpreter certified by the Japanese government) meets you on foot and builds the day around your list. Pick Fushimi Inari Shrine with its thousand vermillion torii gates, or Arashiyama's Bamboo Forest, where the path clears earliest in the morning before crowds arrive. Add Gion's preserved wooden merchant houses, Yasaka Pagoda rising above Higashiyama, Kennin-ji Temple's dry gardens, or Byodo-in's Phoenix Hall across in Uji. Togetsukyo Bridge spans 155 meters across the Katsura River with lush hills as backdrop. The itinerary is yours to shape.

Six hours gives you time to move between three or four sites without rushing, though Byodo-in requires extra travel since it sits in Uji outside the city proper. The guide handles the route and the knowledge. You handle the camera. A licensed guide means someone trained in Japanese culture and history, not just someone who speaks English. Morning light at the Bamboo Forest or evening dimness in Gion changes what you'll shoot, so timing your stops matters. The guide can advise on that.

You pay for entrance fees separately at each site, and lunch is on you. Transportation between stops is your choice: the guide walks with you, but public transit runs nearby if you want to cover ground faster. Wheelchair users, families with strollers and people of any fitness level can book. All surfaces are accessible and service animals are welcome.
