The experience

If you've landed in Montego Bay with a free afternoon or a full day ahead, private transport picks you up from your hotel and takes you straight to Chukka Ocean Outpost on the coast. The outpost is built around choice: you don't follow a fixed itinerary, and you don't sit watching while someone else does the thing. Instead, you move between activities at your own pace: saddle up for a horseback ride and swim in the Caribbean, rev an ATV or dune buggy across the terrain, drift on a bamboo raft through the ocean shallows, or board the party catamaran for snorkeling in shallow water. A professional guide is there throughout, and a helmet comes with the rides.

Between activities, the infinity pool with a swim-up bar is open all day, and so are the water slide, the overwater gazebo and the lush nature spaces tucked into the property. The catamaran includes an Appleton Rum tasting as it sails. You're not on a clock: the day runs seven hours, and how you spend it is yours to decide. Private transport means it's just your party in the vehicle, no pickups and drop-offs at other hotels.

The outpost sits on Jamaica's coastline, and the snorkeling happens in the gentle shallows where the party catamaran drifts. Horseback riders swim in the Caribbean after the ride. The ATV safari covers terrain on the property itself. Bamboo rafting is a separate journey across the ocean. Park entry and all equipment (helmets, rafts, the catamaran seat) are included.
