The experience

The day starts with a boat ride out to Floyd's Pelican Bar, a driftwood structure built on a sandbar in the sea where you can swim, sunbathe and order fresh fish prepared by Floyd himself (meals must be reserved in advance). From there your private driver takes you inland to Appleton Estate, one of Jamaica's oldest sugar estates still in continuous production for over 265 years. You'll walk through the distillery to see how Jamaican rum is made (from the selection of sugarcane varieties through fermentation and the unique blending methods), and taste the result at the end.

YS Falls is the final stop: seven waterfalls cascade into natural pools surrounded by lush gardens and distant mountains. Some areas are rocky, so river shoes help, and lifeguards mark which pools are safe for swimming. A natural pool fed by underground springs works for children and non-swimmers. The property itself is long and canopied, with horses and cattle grazing in the fields around you. If you want to add on, zipline through the canopy for a discounted fee.

Your guide handles the route and timing so you hit all three without the logistics of arranging transport or entry on your own. The whole day runs between five and eight hours depending on how long you linger at each stop.
