The experience

The tour runs 5 to 8 hours depending on how you pace it. You pick the order of the three stops (Black River first, or YS Falls, or straight to Floyd's Pelican Bar), and stay as long as you want at each one. An air-conditioned vehicle and a live English-speaking guide come with the booking. Lunch is on you, but the driver will stop wherever you choose to eat.

Black River is where you see the wildlife: indigenous crocodiles, birds, plants and the river itself. YS Falls is Jamaica's popular waterfall with fresh water pools for swimming. If you want to zipline over the falls, that's available on site. Floyd's Pelican Bar sits 15 minutes out in the ocean. A real bar where you can order fresh fish cooked to order, drink beer, and swim in the sea as the sun goes down.

Entrance fees are $20 per person for each attraction and are paid on site, not included in the tour price. Specialized infant seats are available if you're traveling with small children. The route works from either Negril or Montego Bay, and public transportation options exist nearby if you need an alternative to hotel pickup.
