The Experience

The boat leaves from Negril beach and heads up Seven Mile Beach, passing the restaurants and bars along the shore before reaching the first snorkel site at a coral reef. The captain points out the sea creatures living there and explains their role in the reef ecosystem. You'll see and touch different species, and there's a sunken cannon from the days when pirates, Spanish and English forces battled over Jamaica. The knowledgeable crew keeps the water time relaxed and teaches as you go.

Next stop is Booby Cay Island, an uninhabited speck where the crew grills freshly caught lobster and jerk chicken over authentic fire coal, served with steamed vegetables, rice and peas, and garlic sauce. While lunch cooks, you can walk the island or snorkel again from the shore. Cold beers, rum punch, soda and bottled water flow throughout the day—no separate drink orders, no tab.

The third snorkel happens in the famous Negril caves where pirates once hid, carved into the cliffs.
