The experience

You leave Naples and spend the first hour on the road to the Sorrento peninsula, stopping at Meta di Sorrento for views across the coastline. From there it's another 30 minutes into Sorrento itself, where the guide takes you through the streets to taste the local lemon products (the thing the town is known for), and try the limoncello that comes from them. The stop gives you time to walk and absorb the place instead of just passing through.

Positano comes next, about 30 minutes south. You stop at a panoramic point outside the town first to see the whole vertical city and its pastel-colored houses from above, then walk down into the streets and the beach for a closer look. From Positano, the route heads toward Amalfi with a break at the Emerald Caves of Conca dei Marini, where you can use facilities and buy local ceramics if you want them. Amalfi itself is the final stop: the guide shows you the cathedral, the historic architecture, and the street food the town is built around.
