The experience
You'll arrive at a typical garden in Meta di Sorrento, just minutes from town, where citrus trees and Mediterranean plants frame the space. Valentina welcomes you with Prosecco and traditional Neapolitan bites (bruschetta and Caprese salad skewers) before the cooking begins. From there, you move through each dish step by step: rolling and shaping gnocchi alla sorrentina by hand, slicing and layering eggplant parmigiana, and building tiramisu from scratch. You do the work yourself, not watching a demonstration. Valentina guides you through the techniques and shares the family stories and recipes behind each one.
The meal happens at the end, when you sit down with the other guests to eat everything you've prepared, accompanied by local wine, water, soft drinks, coffee and a glass of Sorrento limoncello. The garden is the setting when weather allows. On rainy days the class moves into a cozy, air-conditioned indoor room. If you're arriving by the Circumvesuviana train, you'll be met at the station and walked to the venue, which is a minute away.

Is this one for you?Small groups work best here. You'll be cooking alongside other guests in Valentina's garden, so this suits travelers who want hands-on instruction and the warmth of a family meal, not a private lesson or a large tour group.
