The experience
You'll spend 2.5 hours in a carefully selected local home in Otranto or the surrounding area. You choose how far you're willing to travel. The host, a member of Cesarine's network of over 1,000 home cooks across Italy, will walk you through preparing one dish from their family recipes, then finish another in front of you. This is not a class with formal instruction. It's a working kitchen where you see how the food actually gets made.
The meal itself is a 4-course spread: a seasonal starter (Pizzi, Puccia round bun, or Apulian Rustico); fresh pasta like Sagne ncannulate or Ciceri e tria; a second course of stewed octopus or fried fish; and a dessert such as Pasticciotto or Cartellate. Regional red and white wines, water, and coffee come with it. You're eating recipes passed down through the host's family, not restaurant versions.
You'll choose lunch or dinner at checkout. The host speaks English or Italian, and public transportation options are nearby if you need them. Since the address stays private until after you book, you'll get all the details you need once your reservation is confirmed.
