You board a boat in Naples, cruise the Gulf of Naples past Vesuvius, explore Capri's grottoes and rock formations by water, then have four hours free on the island to explore Piazzetta di Capri or Anacapri at your own pace. Transfer, guide, and boat tour are included; you arrange your own lunch and any paid attractions on land.
The boat pulls away from Marina Grande as the morning light hits the water, and you're already moving past the Faraglioni — those three limestone stacks rising straight out of the sea. The crossing from Naples takes you across the Gulf, where Vesuvius sits on the horizon, massive and quiet. Your guide points out the Natural Arch as you pass, then the boat slows for the White Grotto, where the water turns a color that doesn't quite look real. The Green Grotto comes next, and this one lives up to the name — the light filtering through the cave mouth makes everything glow. You're not rushing; the boat moves at the pace of someone who knows these waters and wants you to see them properly.
After the boat tour around Capri's coast, you step onto land with about four hours ahead of you. The Piazzetta di Capri is where most people end up — it's the center of the island, small and crowded with cafés, but that's part of it. You can wander into Anacapri if you want the quieter side, or just sit with an espresso and watch the afternoon happen. The tour leader has given you a map and knows the island; if you want to know where to eat or which path leads where, they're there. The Blue Grotto isn't included because the wait times are brutal, but you can visit it on your own time if you decide it's worth the queue.
The return crossing leaves in the late afternoon — another hour on the water, this time heading back toward Naples as the light starts to change. Once you're back at the port, the driver transfers you to wherever you started, and the day is done. It's a full one, but not exhausting. You've seen the boat side of Capri, had time on the island without being herded through it, and crossed the Gulf twice with someone who knows what you're looking at.

Is this one for you?A good fit if you want to see Capri's grottoes and coastline from the water without spending a full day on organized activities — the 4 hours free on land let you choose how to spend your time. Plan for a full day out, roughly 8 hours from pickup to return, which is what makes both the boat tour and island exploration possible.
