You get picked up at 8:45am from Star Hotel Terminus in central Naples and driven 45 minutes to Piano di Sorrento, where a boat with just 12 other people is waiting. The boat itself is built for this route — a Sorrento-style vessel that sits low enough to slip into the grottoes but stable enough that you're not gripping the rails the whole time.
