The Experience

The day starts at 7:45am at the Star Hotel Terminus in Naples, where a minivan picks you up and drives to Piano di Sorrento port. Once on board the boat, you sail past Nisida and the Phlegraean Fields toward Ischia, the so-called Green Island. The skipper circles the island to show you the Maronti beach and the Aragonese Castle—the fortress now known worldwide as Ischia's symbol—before stopping at the Green Grotto for swimming and snorkeling in the water.

You get 3 to 4 hours on Ischia to explore on your own: visit the Aragonese Castle, walk through La Mortella Gardens, wander the village of Sant'Angelo, or simply rest on one of the beaches. Back on the boat, you head toward Procida, the smallest island in the Gulf of Naples. Sailing around it, you pass the islet of Vivara, Terra Murata with the former prison of Palazzo d'Avalos, and the colorful Marina di Corricella. The boat stops for another swim in one of the coastal bays, then you have 1 to 2 hours free time on Procida to walk around at your own pace. On the return to Piano di Sorrento, the tour ends with a limoncello tasting, and the minivan drives you back to Naples.

Snacks and cold drinks come on board throughout the day; bring your own snorkeling gear or buy a mask and snorkel before departure.
