The Experience
The boat leaves Positano pier at 9:30 AM with no more than 12 people aboard, heading south along the coast. You'll sail past Marina di Praia, a small fishing village tucked into Praiano, then toward the Fiordo di Furore—a UNESCO-recognized fjord where the landscape narrows and the water deepens. Along the way, the skipper passes the Emerald Grotto, an optional stop where you can buy a ticket (around €10) to enter the cave yourself, or stay on board while others explore. The route continues past the natural arch at Conca dei Marini and into Amalfi, where you have an hour to walk the alleys, visit shops, or sit in the main square without a guide.
After Amalfi, the boat heads to La Gavitella in Praiano, where lunch is available at the restaurant (typically €35–€50 per person, paid directly there) or you can relax on the beach. From May through October, this is a proper meal stop; outside those months, you'll have about three hours in Amalfi instead to eat on your own. Before returning to Positano, you stop for a swim and snorkel in clear water. Masks and fins are provided, along with life jackets for anyone who needs one.
On board throughout the day, you have access to water, soft drinks, Prosecco, Limoncello, snacks, and fruit. Towels, a shower, and a restroom are available. The whole outing runs about seven hours. The tour operates in groups only (not private), and a maximum of six people can book together. Weather can cancel the tour; if that happens, you'll get an alternative date or a full refund. Arrive 10 minutes early at the Positano Boats stand to check in.

What's the Fiordo di Furore and why does it matter on this tour?
The Fiordo di Furore is a UNESCO-recognized fjord where the Amalfi Coast cliffs narrow dramatically and the water runs deep. The boat sails directly into it, giving you a view of the landscape that's impossible from land—the fjord is only accessible by sea.
Do I have to visit the Emerald Grotto, or can I skip it?
The Emerald Grotto is optional and costs extra (around €10 per person). You can buy a ticket on the spot and go inside, or stay on the boat while others explore. In high season, the wait can run 20–30 minutes or longer, and the group decides together whether to stop.
Is lunch included, and where do we eat?
Lunch is not included in the tour price. From May through October, the boat stops at La Gavitella restaurant in Praiano, where meals typically cost €35–€50 per person and you pay the restaurant directly. Outside those months, you have three hours in Amalfi to find lunch on your own. Vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, and dairy-free options are available at the restaurant.
What happens during the swim stop, and is snorkeling gear provided?
The boat stops in open water for a swim and snorkel before heading back to Positano. Masks, fins, and life jackets are all provided on board in all sizes. You don't need to bring your own gear.
How much time do I get in Amalfi, and is there a guide?
You have one hour in Amalfi to explore the city on your own—no guide is included. You can walk the alleys, shop in local boutiques, or visit historical sites at your own pace. The hour is free time; the tour does not include guided sightseeing in the city.
What's included in the tour price, and what costs extra?
The tour price covers fuel, mooring, taxes, snorkeling equipment, life jackets, drinks (water, soft drinks, Prosecco, Limoncello), snacks, fruit, towels, shower, and restroom access. Lunch at the restaurant and the Emerald Grotto entrance ticket are separate and paid on the day. Hotel pickup is not included; you arrange your own transport to the Positano pier.
