The experience
The day starts with a speedboat crossing from Bali to Nusa Penida. Once on the island, an air-conditioned vehicle takes you through five stops, each one a different kind of coastal landscape. Atuh Beach sits enclosed by green cliffs and limestone formations, with a white sand beach reachable by a purpose-built stairway or narrow cliff-edge tracks. The most striking feature is Bukit Jineng, a hollow rock arch rising from the water.
Rumah Pohon, the treehouse, sits at the Thousand Island viewpoint near Atuh Beach and has become a draw for its perch on the mountainside and the view it commands. Diamond Beach comes next, reached after an hour's drive and a 15-minute walk downhill through soil and limestone stairs that locals have built to help visitors descend. Kelingking Beach offers a platform bordered by bamboo fences where you can stand above the beach. If you choose to descend, the path is steep and requires rock climbing in sections, best tackled at low tide. Lunch happens at a local restaurant between stops. The final stop is Paluang Cliff, near Pura Paluang Temple, which features shrines shaped like cars. Throughout the day, bring water and sturdy shoes. Several descents are demanding, and some beaches have strong undercurrents with no lifeguards present.
The return speedboat departs Nusa Penida in the late afternoon, getting you back to Bali by evening. A live guide in English or French accompanies the group throughout, and children from age 3 are welcome, though the physical demands of the terrain mean younger travelers should be comfortable with steep walks and uneven ground.

Is this one for you?Book this tour if you want to see multiple coastal landscapes in a single day and don't mind steep walks and uneven terrain to reach them. The five stops (each with a different view and access challenge) pack a lot into one itinerary, but that means you're moving between sites rather than lingering at any one place. If you prefer a slower pace or have mobility concerns, a shorter tour focused on one or two beaches might suit you better.

Top questions
What languages is the tour guided in?
Live guide in English and French.
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Child (3 to 6 years). Children under 3 can't be included in the booking.
Can I actually swim at these beaches, or are they just for photos?
Atuh Beach waters aren't always swimmable, and Kelingking Beach has strong undercurrents with no lifeguards, so swimming there carries real risk. Diamond Beach and some sections of Kelingking can be swimmable depending on tide conditions, but the tour is built around the views and the walks, not the water.
How hard is the walk down to Kelingking Beach?
Kelingking Beach requires a challenging trek with steep sections and rock climbing, especially on the way back up. Locals have placed rocks and bamboos to help, but you need sturdy shoes, drinking water and moderate fitness. Low tide makes it easier. If you're not comfortable with steep descents, you can stay on the platform above the beach.
What's the Rumah Pohon treehouse, and do I get to go inside it?
Rumah Pohon is an actual house built in a tree at the Thousand Island viewpoint above Atuh Beach. The tour includes a stop to view and photograph it from the viewpoint area. You don't rent it overnight on this day tour, but it's become famous on social media for its setting and the view it commands.
Do I need to be fit to do this tour?
The operator recommends at least moderate physical fitness. Several stops involve steep descents, rock climbing sections, and uneven terrain. The tour isn't recommended for travelers with spinal injuries, poor cardiovascular health, or pregnancy due to the physical demands and the speedboat crossing.
