The experience

The boat leaves from Margarita Resto & Tequila Sunrise Beach Bar on Gili Trawangan's beachfront. Your guide fits you with a mask and fins, talks through the spots you want to hit, and then you're on the water heading to the Gili Islands' best snorkeling sites. The glass-bottom boat lets you see what's below before you jump in, and the guide stays with you the whole time, pointing out turtles, steering you toward the densest coral, and filming everything on a GoPro so you don't have to choose between watching and remembering.

The stops change depending on which tour you pick. All three options visit the underwater statues, Fish Garden and turtle hotspots. The 2-hour morning tour keeps the pace quick and the sun low. The 3-hour sunset tour adds time on Gili Meno's beaches and ends with you on the top deck watching the sun drop into the water with music playing. The 4-hour morning tour gives you the longest time in the water and the most stops, plus the same island time and aerial coverage. On both the sunset and 4-hour morning tours, the guide uses a drone to capture footage and photos from above Gili Meno: the white sand and clear water look different from the air, and you get both versions to take home.

The GoPro footage arrives with you after the tour, so you can watch yourself swimming past coral and turtles without the camera work getting in the way. Bottled water is free on every departure.
