The Experience

The boat departs Gili Trawangan at 14:30 and heads first to Gili Meno, where you'll snorkel above the underwater sculptures created by Jason deCaires Taylor. Sea turtles—both green and hawksbill—live in these shallows 5 to 10 meters from the beach and are accustomed to swimmers; you can approach and watch them in their habitat. The second stop is Turtle Point, where the same turtles gather and you'll have time to swim alongside them before the crew anchors for a short break on Gili Meno's white sand beach.

As the light turns golden, the boat heads toward Gili Air for the sunset gathering. You'll stay on board with complimentary snacks and appetizers, paddleboards and floating beanbags available if you want to stay in the water, and drinks from the bar (at additional cost). The crew watches the sky change while you float or lounge on deck, then the boat turns back to Gili Trawangan for dinner—a buffet served on board as the day closes. The whole trip runs about five hours.

Snorkeling gear is provided, and the itinerary can shift depending on weather and sea conditions. The experience is not a beach stop; everything happens on the boat or in the water around it. An English-speaking guide leads the snorkeling and explains what you're seeing. Bring a swimsuit, towel, sunglasses, hat, sandals, and sunblock; the boat does not stop to buy supplies, so bring cash if you want bar drinks beyond what's included.
