The Experience
The boat leaves in the early morning when the water is calmest and the marine life most active. You'll snorkel three separate sites: the underwater statues at Gili Meno, Turtle City where the animals congregate, and Secret Garden. Between locations, breakfast is served on deck so you can eat and rest without cutting into water time. A trained snorkel guide leads the group and points out the reef structure and fish; you bring nothing but your comfort level, since premium gear, towels and a safety briefing are all arranged.
Once the snorkeling wraps up, a full buffet lunch appears on board—international options, not limited to one cuisine. After eating, the afternoon is yours to choose: paddle boards, floating beanbags, swimming, roof jumps, or simply lying back with a cold drink. The boat stays anchored or drifts slowly, so you set the pace. A GoPro camera captures the day and photos are included, so you leave with footage of the turtles and the reef.
The whole experience runs 5 hours from start to finish. Drinking water is provided throughout; additional beverages are available for purchase. Life jackets and a safety guide are standard. Two shuttles run anytime, so getting to the boat from your accommodation on Gili Trawangan is straightforward.
