The experience
The day starts at 8 a.m. with a welcome drink, light breakfast and a full safety briefing at basecamp. You'll suit up in a wetsuit, helmet, harness and gloves, then run through a quick practice session before driving to the canyon entrance near Gitgit Subak Temple, surrounded by clove and coffee plantations. No prior canyoning experience is needed. The guide handles the technical instruction and stays with your group throughout.
Once in the canyon, you descend through a bamboo forest using multiple rappels to reach the Gitgit Twin Waterfall, the signature moment of the route. Between rappels you'll navigate natural slides, jump into pools and eventually take a zip line deeper into the gorge. Midway through, the group stops to soak in natural hot springs while the guide serves hot tea, coffee and snacks: a chance to rest and take in the canyon walls around you.
After the final slides and zip line, you return to basecamp for a shower and lunch with a view. The operator records your descent and stores the footage so you can download it afterward. The whole experience runs about eight hours from start to finish, with the drive to the canyon and the return journey included.
Is this one for you?The guide leads in English, so you'll follow the technical instruction and safety calls clearly throughout the day. Children from age 12 can join if they're comfortable with water and rappelling, making this a family-friendly adventure for mixed-age groups.
