The Experience
Hotel pickup starts the day, then a 2-hour drive takes you to Bali Bird Park. The park spans 2 hectares and holds around 1,000 birds from 250 species—birds from Indonesia, Africa and South America, plus roughly 2,000 tropical plants. Your admission covers the Bali rainforest free flight bird show, basic instinct bird of prey show, pelican feeding, Papua rainforest feeding, the Komodo experience, lory feeding, meet the bird stars, a 4D cinema and Guyu guyu corner. You'll spend about 2 hours here.
From the bird park, a 1-hour drive brings you to Ubud's traditional market. The local market fills before sunrise with fresh produce and goods for residents; by 9 a.m. many vendors close as tourist-focused stalls take over. The early morning hours catch the market at its busiest and most authentic. You'll have around 1 hour to walk through.
The final stop is Tegalalang Rice Terrace, another hour's drive away. The terraces follow the subak, a traditional Balinese cooperative irrigation system, and spread across the valley slopes in stepped paddies. The roadside location is cool and breezy, and it's a known spot for photographs; painters and nature lovers also stop here, and art kiosks line the area. You'll spend about 1 hour. After this, your driver takes you back to your hotel—a 2-hour return drive.
