The experience

The day starts with an 8:00 AM pickup from your hotel or villa and heads straight to the Ayung River. You spend two hours navigating the rapids: the operator calls them fun-filled, and the water is clear enough for families and beginners. The river cuts through rain forest, so you're paddling past waterfalls and ancient stone carvings carved into the rock walls. After you climb out, lunch waits at a rafting restaurant to refuel before the second half.

The buggy ride takes an hour and covers ground a car cannot. You'll splash across muddy puddles, weave through dense jungle tracks, and discover a hidden waterfall and a mysterious tunnel along the way. If you want steeper terrain, the instructors can guide you over more challenging slopes and downhill descents. The whole day runs about eight hours from pickup to drop-off.

Safety gear (helmet, life jacket and boot shoes) is provided and approved. You get a professional English-speaking driver who acts as your tour guide, plus a dedicated rafting guide and buggy instructor. The vehicle is air-conditioned for the transfers, and lockers, towels, shower and changing rooms are available at the rafting base. Insurance, tax and services are built into the price.
