The experience
The trek runs three days and two nights, starting from Senaru and climbing to the crater rim of Mount Rinjani. This is the beginner route: the path stays below the summit and stops at the rim, where the views open across the crater lake and out to the Gili Islands and Mount Agung in Bali. You trek through pristine rainforest on the way up, then camp on the rim itself to catch the sunset and sunrise from that vantage.
An experienced English-speaking guide leads the trek, and porters handle the cooking gear, camping equipment and your supplies so you carry only a day pack. The operator provides tent, sleeping bag, mattress, pillow and a chair for camp. A toilet tent and paper are set up at the site. You get three litres of mineral water per day and all meals on the trek. Luggage storage is available at the Dhyns Rinjani hiking office before you start, so you can leave behind anything you don't need on the mountain.
You can add an extra porter to carry your own luggage if you prefer not to use the storage, and you'll arrange tips for the guide and porters at the end. Transport pickup before the trek and transfers after are optional add-ons at checkout.
