You get picked up from anywhere in Jaipur between 8am and noon, then head out with your private guide and driver in an air-conditioned car. The first stop is Jantar Mantar, the 18th-century astronomical observatory built by Rajput king Sawai Jai Singh II and completed in 1734. It holds the world's largest stone sundial and sits on the UNESCO World Heritage list. The site sits near the other two landmarks, so the geography keeps the day compact.

From there you move to the Hawa Mahal—the Palace of Winds—constructed in red and pink sandstone in 1799. The five-story structure was built as the zenana, or women's chambers, and sits on the edge of the City Palace. Then you visit the City Palace itself, established when Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II founded Jaipur in 1727 and moved his court there from Amber. Until 1949 it served as the ceremonial and administrative seat of the Maharaja. You also pass through Patrika Gate at Jawahar Circle, a majestic series of ornate gates popular for photography.
