You start with lassi and pakoras, spend the middle hours doing village activities, and finish with a full lunch of sarson ka saag, makki di roti, dal makhni and kheer. The experience

Three to four hours in a working village outside Amritsar, led by Tarsem Singh. You arrive to lassi and pakoras with jaggery tea, then move into the activities that shape a Punjabi day: milking a cow, riding a tractor and bullock cart, learning to tie a turban the way the region does it, getting henna art applied to your hands. The kitchen is where the tour slows down. You watch and help with the cooking that happens in a traditional setup, the kind without the appliances that changed how food gets made elsewhere.

Lunch comes in the village house itself: sarson ka saag with makki di roti (the seasonal greens and cornbread that define Punjab), dal makhni, mixed vegetables, curd, zeera rice, plain chapati and salad. Kheer, rice pudding, closes it. The tour runs on a schedule, but the pace inside it is the pace of the village, not a checklist. Children from age 2 onward come along. The guide speaks English throughout.

Transportation is not part of the tour price. A sedan for up to five people costs an extra Rs. 1,500. An Innova for up to six costs Rs. 2,000. You arrange this separately when you book, and the driver brings you to the village and back to Amritsar at the end.
