The day starts at your hotel and moves through Amritsar's spiritual and historical core. The Golden Temple (Sri Harimandir Sahib) is the first stop: a central religious place for Sikhs and a symbol of human brotherhood and equality that draws visitors across all backgrounds. From there, the guide takes you to Jallianwala Bagh, the site of the 1919 massacre that killed around 1,000 civilians and remains one of the most significant moments in India's independence history. The Partition Museum, located in the town hall, holds stories and documents from the post-partition riots that followed the 1947 division of British India and Pakistan.

The tour closes at the Wagha Border, where the daily flag raising and lowering ceremony, known as the beating retreat, brings crowds from both sides to watch Indian Border Force members and Pakistani Rangers march and close the gates in synchronized ceremony. The event has become a tradition for its patriotic atmosphere, though the ceremony has toned down since 2010. Your guide handles the route and timing.
