The experience

The day starts with the zipline itself: you fly over the treetops of the wildlife park, passing macaws, parrots and capuchin monkeys below. After the canopy, a local guide drives you west across the island, explaining the history and culture as you go. The route takes you to the Chocolate Factory, where you watch the black and white chocolate process and see the cocoa trees that feed it. You can buy finished chocolates and crafts if you want to take something home.

Next is the Rum Cake factory, famous on the island for handmade rum and cake made in the artisan way. Free samples come with the stop, and there are multiple flavors to try. The excursion wraps up with photo stops at the colorful Roatan sign, a landmark the group uses for pictures before the drive back. Round-trip transport from your hotel or cruise port is built in, so you don't arrange a separate ride.

The Beach Club entry is included, so you have access to the facilities at the end of the day if you want to swim or rest before heading back. A minimum of two people per booking is required, and the guide may speak multiple languages depending on the group.

What exactly do I do on the zipline part?

You fly over the canopy on the zipline, moving above the treetops of the wildlife park where you can see macaws, parrots and capuchin monkeys. It is the adrenaline part of the day before the guide takes over for the factory and city stops.

Do I get to taste the chocolate and rum cake, or just watch?

You taste both. At the Chocolate Factory, you watch the process and then can buy chocolates. At the Rum Cake factory, free samples of handmade rum and cake in different flavors come with the stop, and you can buy your favorites if you want.
