Step-by-step itinerary
Wildlife, snorkeling, and beach relaxation
- Visit local wildlife sanctuary
- Explore chocolate factory and taste
- Taste premium rum cakes
- Enjoy panoramic island views
- Snorkel at second largest reef
- Relax at West Bay Beach
The experience
West Bay Beach is where the boat departs for the reef. The snorkeling itself lasts about an hour in crystal-clear Caribbean waters among coral gardens and tropical marine life. All equipment is provided. After you surface, the tour builds in time to rest on the sand or wade back into the water before heading inland.
Between the reef and the beach, the day includes stops at a local wildlife sanctuary to see capuchin monkeys, two-toed sloths, and scarlet macaws; a locally owned chocolate factory where you taste artisan chocolate; and a rum company serving premium rum cakes. You'll also visit the highest point of the island for panoramic views and see the colorful Roatan sign. An air-conditioned vehicle moves the group between stops, and your guide speaks English or Spanish throughout.
The tour meets you 20 minutes after your ship docks. If your ship runs late, contact the operator and they'll coordinate. The staff never leaves anyone behind. The full day ends back at port, giving you time to return to your ship or explore on your own.

Is this one for you? This tour works for families with young children and mixed groups, since everyone travels together in the air-conditioned vehicle between stops and the snorkeling itself is the centerpiece rather than a guided deep-water dive. The five-hour length fits a port day without rushing the reef time or the beach break.
