Snorkeling in Roatan: Wildlife Eco-Park and Two Reef Stops
You make two separate reef stops instead of one, so you see more of the underwater landscape.
This four-hour snorkeling excursion from Roatan's cruise terminal pairs a guided tour of an animal sanctuary with two separate reef snorkel stops. After learning about sloths, capuchin monkeys, macaws and parrots at the eco-park, you board a speedboat to anchor at the reef, where you enter the water to swim among colorful coral and the drop-off wall. Two different locations let you cover more ground underwater.

Visit eco-park and snorkel reef
- Welcome at cruise terminal
- Tour animal sanctuary eco-park
- Board speed-boat to reef
- Snorkel at two reef locations
The experience
The day starts at your cruise terminal with a warm welcome and transport to the animal sanctuary eco-park, where a guide walks you through the habitat and introduces you to sloths, capuchin monkeys, scarlet macaws and parrots. The eco-park is built as a safe environment for the animals, and the guide explains what you're seeing as you move through. After the sanctuary, there's a stop at a chocolate and rum shop before you head to the dock to board the speedboat.
Once anchored at the reef, you leap into the water with your snorkeling gear and swim around the colorful coral and the drop-off wall, spotting the marine wildlife that lives there. The two separate snorkel stops mean you're not confined to one location. You move to a different part of the reef partway through so you see more of what's underwater. The whole snorkel portion runs about two hours. All snorkeling equipment is provided, along with bottled water. An air-conditioned vehicle handles the land portion of the day.
