The experience
The boat leaves from the registration office near Coxen Hole or Mahogany Bay and heads to three distinct snorkeling sites. CoCo View Reef Wall sits just 5 feet below the surface, dense with Lettuce, Staghorn and Elkhorn corals. The wreck of the Prince Albert and the reef's cleaning stations draw diverse marine life, and you can explore both the east and west sides of the cut. French Key Marine Park, famous for its ecosystem, puts you face-to-face with schools of colorful fish and massive lobsters moving across the ocean floor. Big French Key Reef, on Roatan's south coast, stays protected by coral formations that keep the water clear and the snorkeling contained in one well-preserved area.
After the three stops, the boat returns to Brady's Cay, a four-acre island twenty minutes from Coxen Hole and ten minutes from Mahogany Bay. You get free use of beach chairs, umbrellas, showers, bathrooms and Wi-Fi. Snorkeling gear is included, and the guide stays with the group until departure. Food and drinks are available on the island, with options both with and without alcohol. Jet skis, paddle boards and banana boats can be rented for an extra fee if you want them.
The whole outing runs between four and five hours. Transportation is air-conditioned, and the boat holds a maximum of fourteen people, so the group stays small and private. Your guide speaks English or Spanish and remains on hand for the entire visit.
