Step-by-step itinerary

Beer and food tasting at brewery

  • Travel to Roatan Island Brewing Company
  • Enjoy flight of four beverages
  • Taste bratwurst platter with sides
  • Optional: order from regular menu

The experience

The brewery sits off the main road in the Roatan jungle, and the drive there is part of the experience. You'll see the island as locals do on the way. Once you arrive, you're tasting four five-ounce pours from a rotating menu of 12 house-made beverages: the Latin Lager, Sunny Haze wheat beer, Czech Pilsner, hard seltzers, hard ciders, Vanilla Coffee Nitro Porter, and non-alcoholic options like soursop tea and kombucha. You pick which four you want to try.

The food is a bratwurst platter with three kinds of German sausage (redwurst, weisswurst and knockwurst, all produced on the Honduras mainland) served with pretzel bites, homemade sauerkraut and spicy German mustard. If you want more, you can order from the full menu at your own cost. The yucca fries come up often enough that the brewery mentions them by name. The space itself hosts local events: artisan markets, fundraiser dunk tanks, cornhole tournaments. You're not watching a demo. You're sitting in an actual working brewery where people gather.

Pickup is included in your ticket. The experience typically runs between two and four hours, depending on whether you linger over the tasting or add food and conversation. The legal drinking age in Roatan is 18.
