Greek Cooking Class on Mykonos: Wood-Fire Traditional Recipes
Cook wood-fire Greek dishes with Mrs. Juliana using hand-picked farm ingredients
A hands-on cooking class on Mykonos where you learn to prepare traditional Greek dishes with Mrs. Juliana at her family farm, using wood-fire cooking and seasonal ingredients she has selected. You'll make several courses (from saganaki and stuffed vegetables to slow-cooked lamb or fish), and finish with a surprise dish, all cooked over the fire and shared as a meal.
The experience
Mrs. Juliana teaches you to cook the way she has for years: over a wood-fire at the family farm, using ingredients picked that season. You start by learning the technique for one of the opening dishes (saganaki, flatbread with feta, or meatballs), then move through several courses. Smoked eggplant mousse, zucchini croquettes, stuffed vegetables, green beans, and a slow-cooked main of lamb, chicken or fish follow, each one built around what the wood-fire does best. The class runs about four hours, and the meal you've cooked together is what you eat when it's done.
Private transportation is included, so you arrive at the farm ready to cook. The guide speaks English, German or Greek depending on your group. Children from age four are welcome, and infants can sit with an adult. Alcoholic beverages are part of the experience, and all fees and taxes are covered in the price.
