Private Greek Meze Picnic on Mykonos Secret Beach
Mykonian fish mezes, homemade spreads, and white wine on an isolated beach
A private meze picnic on Mykonos pairs handmade Greek appetizers and local white wine with a secluded beach and a guide who lives on the island. You taste marinated fish, homemade spreads, and dolmadakia while learning how locals prepare and pair these dishes. Three options let you add a walking tour through Mykonos town, a van route to Ano Mera village and the lighthouse, or go straight to the beach.

The experience
The picnic centers on mezes: small, intensely flavored dishes that Greeks eat as a ritual, not just food. You'll taste marinated anchovies and sardines, tarama made from fish roe, spicy cheese spread, homemade eggplant salad, and dolmadakia stuffed with rice, all paired with Greek white wine. A local guide walks you through how to choose aromatics, marinate fish, and build flavors the way Mykonians do. The mezes come fresh and handmade, not plated ahead. Breadsticks come from an artisanal bakery in town and Greek salad is made on the spot with local ingredients.
The three options shape your day. Private Picnic & Wine takes you straight to the secluded beach. Private Walk & Picnic adds a route through Mykonos town (Matoyianni street, the Old Port, the Church of Paraportiani, Little Venice, and the Windmills) before ending on the beach. Private Van & Picnic covers more ground: the Lighthouse, Ano Mera village, and Kalafatis beach for photos and sightseeing, then the picnic. All three end at the same isolated beach where you swim in clear water and talk with someone who knows how life actually works here.
The experience runs about two hours. Wear comfortable clothes and flat shoes. The beach is remote and high heels won't work. If you book with pickup and drop-off at the meeting point, that costs extra. The operator asks that you tell them about any food allergies ahead of time so they can adjust the spread. Ferries to Mykonos can run 45 minutes to an hour late, so plan for that if you're arriving by sea.

What mezes will I actually taste on this picnic?
Marinated anchovies or sardines with olive oil, tarama made from fish roe, a spicy cheese spread, homemade eggplant salad, dolmadakia stuffed with rice, Greek salad made fresh on the spot, and breadsticks from a local bakery: all paired with Greek white wine.
Can I add a tour of Mykonos town to the beach picnic?
Yes. The Private Walk & Picnic option takes you through Matoyianni street, the Old Port, the Church of Paraportiani, Little Venice, and the Windmills before the picnic on the beach. The Private Van & Picnic covers the Lighthouse, Ano Mera village, and Kalafatis beach instead, then ends at the same secluded beach.

Wear comfortable clothes and flat shoes. The beach is isolated and not suited to high heels. The operator provides the mezes, wine, and a place to swim. Bring sunscreen and a towel if you plan to go in the water.
How does the guide teach me about meze and wine?
The local guide shows you how to choose and pair aromatics, how to marinate fish, and how Mykonians build flavors into these small dishes. You learn by tasting and talking, not from a formal lesson.
