Wine Tasting in Mykonos: 6 Greek Wines at a Traditional Home
Six wines, one sommelier, a Mykonian home instead of a tasting room
A half-day wine tasting in Mykonos held in a traditional Mykonian home, where a sommelier guides you through 6 prestigious Greek wine labels with paired local snacks. Hotel pickup and drop-off are included, and you can choose a noon or evening departure. Minimum age is 18; vegetarian snacks are available on request.
The Experience
The sommelier Stathis Pasoglou runs this tasting from his own traditional Mykonian home, not a commercial venue. You're picked up from your hotel or a location you specify, then transferred to the dining room where the course begins. Over the next three hours, you taste 6 different wine labels from representative Greek regions—learning how the varieties differ and what makes each one work—while snacks of local products arrive alongside each pour. The snacks are prepared by the host and change with what's in season and what pairs well that day.
The tasting itself is structured: you move through the wines in stages, understanding the characteristics of each one before moving to the next. This is not a casual pour-and-chat; Pasoglou's approach is formal enough that you leave with actual knowledge of Greek wine, but the setting—a home, not a classroom—keeps it intimate. When the tasting wraps, you can write a note in the guestbook, then your driver returns you to your hotel or drops you wherever you choose on the island.
You choose your departure time when you book: noon or 6pm. The noon slot works if you want the tasting before lunch or as a morning activity; the evening departure suits a pre-dinner experience. Either way, the pickup happens from your accommodation, so you don't need a rental car or a taxi negotiation. Gloves, face masks and disinfectant are provided as standard precautions.

What Greek wines will I taste during the three hours?
The tasting covers 6 prestigious wine labels from representative regions across Greece. The sommelier walks you through the characteristics of each variety and how they differ, so you understand what you're tasting rather than just drinking it.
Is hotel pickup really included, or do I need to arrange my own transport?
Hotel pickup and drop-off are included in the price. You send your accommodation details (hotel name, apartment location, or cruise ship) to the operator by 3pm the day before, and the driver collects you from there and returns you at the end.
What time of day should I book—the noon or 6pm slot?
The noon departure works well if you want the tasting as a morning or early-lunch activity; the 6pm slot suits an evening experience before dinner. Both last three hours, so choose based on what fits your day and whether you prefer daylight or dusk in the home.
Are the snacks vegetarian, or is there a meat option?
Vegetarian snacks are available on request. The local products served alongside each wine are prepared by the host and paired to complement the wines you're tasting.
What's the minimum age for this tasting?
Guests must be at least 18 years old to participate in the wine tasting.
Do I need to know anything about wine to join, or is this for beginners?
The sommelier guides you through the tasting stages and explains the dynamics of Greek wine varieties, so no prior knowledge is required. The course is structured to teach you as you taste.
