- Pick up from hotel

The experience
The guide picks you up from your hotel or another spot you agree on and drives you first to Aburi Botanical Gardens, where the tour opens with the garden's history and the medicinal plants the local community has used for generations. The guide walks you through the collection and explains what each plant does: information most visitors don't find on their own. Children are welcome from age six, and the gardens are built for families to move through at their own pace.
From there you head to Tetteh Quarshie Cocoa Farm, the first cocoa farm established in Ghana. The guide covers the farm's origins and Ghana's role in cocoa production, a history that shaped the country's economy. The drive between stops takes you through the rolling hills of the Eastern region, scenery the operator notes as part of the route itself. Then comes Asenema Waterfall, about an hour and a half from Accra and just a five-minute walk from the main road. The falls sit in the rainforest of the Akuapem Hills and flow strongest during the rainy season. You'll have time to swim, photograph the cascade and the landscape around it, and cool off after the morning's walking.
The vehicle is air-conditioned and seats your group only. Your guide speaks English or French. Bring swimwear and a towel for the waterfall. The tour runs five to seven hours depending on how long you spend at each stop. Hotel pickup, all entrance fees, and taxes are built into the price.
