You spend four hours in Bora Bora's lagoon snorkeling through coral gardens and shallow water with stingrays and sharks, guided the whole way. Lunch on a private motu is included, along with snorkeling gear, water, and towels. The boat returns you by late afternoon.

6h

Step-by-step itinerary

  • Meet stingrays and black tip sharks
  • Cruise to private motu islet
  • Enjoy local buffet lunch on motu
  • Admire Otemanu mountain and lagoon views

The Experience

Gliding out from the dock, the boat cuts into water so clear you can see the bottom shift from sand to reef in real time. The lagoon of Bora Bora opens up around you—turquoise in the shallows, deepening to blue where the reef drops away. Your guide steers toward the coral garden first, where the water is warm and the fish are waiting. You'll slip in with snorkeling gear (included, and they fit you properly before you leave the boat) and spend the first stretch watching thousands of fish move through the coral like they're part of the reef itself. The colors don't need describing—you'll see them.

After an hour or so in the garden, the guide brings the boat into shallower water for the stingrays. They glide past your legs without touching, curious and calm, and the guide explains how they move, what they eat, how they sense you in the water. Then come the black-tip sharks—smaller than you'd expect, and they're not hunting tourists. You're in their home, and they're used to the boat. Four hours goes fast when you're watching something new every few minutes, and the guide keeps talking the whole time, pointing out what matters and what's just scenery.

Around midday the boat turns toward the motu—that's the local word for the small island where lunch happens. Your table is set on the sand, and the view splits your attention: Otemanu mountain rises sharp on one side, and the lagoon spreads flat and turquoise on the other. Lunch is a buffet of local dishes, nothing fancy, but it tastes right when you're sitting where you are. Soda and bottled water come with it. You get a towel, time to dry off, and the chance to sit still for a bit before heading back to the boat for the return trip.

What’s included

Your day includes snorkeling equipment, bottled water and soda, a buffet lunch served on the private motu, and towels. You spend four hours exploring the coral garden, stingray shallows, and shark waters with a guide before returning to the boat.

Operated by Lagoon Service

Is this one for you?A good fit if you want to see Bora Bora's lagoon life without arranging your own boat or gear—the guide handles the timing and the animals, and lunch is waiting on the motu. Expect to be in and out of the water several times across four hours, which is what lets you see the coral, stingrays, and sharks all in one morning.
