Full-day Bora Bora lagoon safari with snorkeling and lunch
You'll snorkel with stingrays and blacktip reef sharks in the same afternoon as a picnic lunch on white sand.
A full-day lagoon safari in Bora Bora combines snorkeling at a coral garden and marine sanctuary with a Polynesian-style lunch on a small islet, led by a local guide who shares the island's history and marine life. The boat picks you up from your resort and returns you there at the end; a minimum of four travelers is required for the tour to run.
Step-by-step itinerary
Full-day lagoon safari and snorkeling
- Pick up from resort
- Boat tour on Bora Bora lagoon
- Swim with stingrays and reef sharks
- Snorkel in coral garden
- Visit manta ray sanctuary
- Lunch and activities on motu islet
- Return to resort
The Experience
Five to six hours aboard Rohivai Tours' renovated boat means you start with pickup at your resort and spend the morning moving between three main stops on the lagoon. Your guide—fluent in English or French—navigates you to a marine sanctuary first, where you enter the water to swim with stingrays and blacktip reef sharks; both are harmless and accustomed to visitors. The boat then glides to a coral garden where you snorkel among colorful fish and coral formations in clear water, and afterward heads toward a manta ray sanctuary, though sightings are not guaranteed.
After the snorkeling, the tour moves to a motu—a small coconut-palm islet—where lunch waits on the sand. The meal is Polynesian-style: rice salad, grilled chicken, raw fish in coconut milk, seasonal fruits, coconut bread and cake. The kitchen adapts the menu for allergies and dietary preferences. You eat with views of the lagoon and the volcanic peaks beyond, and can watch a coconut and weaving demonstration if you choose. Snorkeling gear, towels, bottled water, fruit juices and soda are included throughout the day.
Rohivai Tours is a family operation run by a Polynesian couple and has been operating since 2023. The tour requires a minimum of four travelers to depart; if that threshold is not met, you'll be offered an alternative date or a full refund. Your guide drops you back at your resort when the day ends.

Is this one for you?A shared tour means you travel with other guests and split the boat cost, which is how Rohivai Tours keeps the day affordable; a private charter would cost more and run on your schedule alone, but this one departs on fixed dates with a guide who knows the lagoon's rhythms and where the marine life congregates on any given day.
