The experience
The tour starts in the vineyard itself, where the guide walks you through the daily work of the estate and explains how each decision in the field shapes the wine. You'll see how Château Grangey has operated as a family business since 1953, and what that continuity means for the way they approach the land and the grapes.
In the cellar, you move from theory to practice: the guide shows you the different aging containers the estate uses (amphora, stainless steel, thunderbolt tanks, and barrels), and explains why each one is chosen for each wine. These are not abstract choices. Each vessel changes what the wine becomes, and you'll taste the difference in the final tasting.
The visit ends with a guided tasting of four wines from the estate. This is not a rushed sampling. The guide walks you through what you're tasting and why, so you can taste the impact of the methods you just saw in the cellar. It's a straightforward way to understand the connection between the work in the vineyard, the choices in the cellar, and what ends up in your glass.
