Normandy D-Day Private Tour: Omaha Beach & Pointe du Hoc
Walk the D-Day beaches with a guide who knows the story behind each position

You visit Omaha Beach, Pointe du Hoc, the American Cemetery and Memorial, Ranville War Cemetery, a German coastal battery with four original cannons, and the Pegasus Memorial Museum. Hotel pickup and drop-off are included, and the itinerary can be personalized if you have family connections to the battle or interest in a specific division.
Step-by-step itinerary

The Experience
Omaha Beach is where the tour begins—the "Bloody Omaha" sectors where the landing footage in Saving Private Ryan was filmed. Your guide walks you through the terrain and explains what happened in the Dog Green and Charlie sectors, the positions and the cost. From there you move to Pointe du Hoc, a clifftop position still scarred with bomb craters and German bunkers, where US Rangers carried out one of the most difficult assaults of the invasion.
The American Cemetery and Memorial sits on a bluff overlooking the beach. It holds 9,387 graves and is the place most visitors come to pay their respects. The Visitor Center provides context for the names and the units. After lunch in a fisherman village, the tour includes the German coastal battery—four original cannons still in their bunkers—and Ranville War Cemetery, where British, Australian, New Zealand, German and other Allied soldiers are buried side by side. The day ends at the Pegasus Memorial Museum, marking the first airborne operation of the invasion, the one known from The Longest Day as "Hold until relieved."
The tour runs 13 hours from pickup at your Paris hotel to drop-off. Your guide speaks English or French, and the van is air-conditioned. If you have a relative who fought in Normandy or you want to focus on a specific division or army, tell the operator when you book—they will research individuals and divisions and build the itinerary around your interest.

Does the tour include lunch?
Lunch is not included in the tour price. You stop in a fisherman village where you can eat, and lunch typically costs around €20.
How long is the full day, and what time does pickup happen?
The tour is 13 hours from hotel pickup to drop-off. Pickup time is arranged when you book based on your Paris accommodation.
Is this tour shared with other groups, or is it just my group?
Once booked, the tour is private to your group only—it is not shared with other travelers.
What is the Pegasus Memorial Museum, and why is it on the itinerary?
The Pegasus Memorial Museum marks the first airborne operation of the Normandy invasion, known from the film The Longest Day. It is the final stop and closes the day with the story of the glider landings and the order to "Hold until relieved."
