The second half of the day moves through Villefranche's old town, a medieval fisherman's village built on a steep hillside with narrow, colorful streets and baroque architecture. You walk through the Rue Obscure (Dark Street), a covered medieval passage, and explore the maze of alleys that open onto the sea. The tour includes a local picnic lunch on a sandy beach, where you can swim if you bring a swimsuit and towel. If you want to add the Cocteau Chapel—a tiny 13th-century chapel decorated by the filmmaker and artist Jean Cocteau, with surprising drawings including a portrait of Picasso—you can arrange that for €4 per person before the tour ends.
