The experience
The ride starts with a choice of departure time that matches your experience level. Beginners gather at 9:00am, advanced riders at 11:00am, so you're paired with people at your own pace rather than held back or pushed beyond what feels right. The Finnhorses are calm and suited to both first-timers and people who've ridden before, and the guide stays with your group throughout the two hours.
You'll move through Levi's mountain landscapes and forest trails, taking in the terrain at the rhythm of the ride itself. The path winds through open fields and into the trees, and the guide navigates the route while you focus on the horse and the ground beneath you. A helmet is provided, and you'll have juice and cookies partway through to break up the ride.
The activity is accessible to a wide range of people: children from age 6 can ride, and the guide will work with your fitness level. The terrain and the pace of the ride mean this is something you do rather than watch, and the two-hour window gives you enough time to settle into the saddle and feel the difference between a walk and a trot without a full-day commitment.
