The experience
You'll be picked up at your meeting point in Levi and driven about 10 km outside the city to the husky base. When you arrive, you meet the Alaskan and Siberian huskies that will pull your sled: energetic, friendly dogs eager to run. After a short safety briefing from your guide, you take the reins yourself and drive the sled for 5 km through the Arctic wilderness. The trail winds across a frozen lake and through snow-covered pine forests, and your guide stays with you the whole time for safety and support, though you're the one steering.
Once the ride ends, you step into a warm kota shelter to thaw out and recover. Hot drinks and cookies are included, and you'll spend time with the huskies: petting them, learning their personalities, taking photos, and seeing the bond they share with their handlers. The operator follows a strict no-kill policy and prioritizes the dogs' rest and wellbeing. The whole experience runs about two hours from pickup to drop-off.
The base is remote, so bring cash or a backup payment method if you want to buy extra drinks or snacks on-site. Dress very warmly for the ride itself. In extreme cold below minus 30 degrees Celsius or severe weather, the operator will reschedule or offer a full refund.

Is this one for you?You drive the sled yourself, which means you're steering through the Arctic landscape rather than watching from a passenger seat: that hands-on control is what makes this feel like a real mushing adventure rather than a ride-along. If you want to experience the physical act of sledding and the direct connection with the dogs, this self-drive format delivers it.
