The experience
The activity runs 2.5 hours from pickup in the Levi area. Transport takes you to the husky farm first, where you meet the dogs, learn how they work, then ride a 500-meter sledge behind a team. From there the guide drives you to the reindeer farm, where you repeat the sequence: introduction to the animals, then a 500-meter ride on a reindeer sledge. Winter clothes are provided, so you arrive in regular layers and change into the gear on site. The guide speaks English throughout and handles all the logistics. You show up and follow along.
Both sledge rides are the core of the day. The husky run and the reindeer run each cover the same distance but feel entirely different: huskies pull hard and fast, reindeer move at a steadier pace. Neither requires prior experience or fitness beyond the ability to sit in a sledge and hold on. The farms themselves are working operations, not theme parks, so the animals are the real thing and the rides are genuine, not shortened versions for tourists in a hurry. This setup is why the activity fits into a morning. You see both animals, ride both teams, and still have the afternoon free.
Pickup is from set locations in Levi, and the guide drives you back to the same point when it's over. Specialized infant seats are available if you're bringing a very small child. Pregnant travelers should skip this one. The activity suits all fitness levels as long as you can climb into and out of a sledge.

Top questions
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Child (4 to 13 years); Infant (under 4): free.
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What do the husky and reindeer sledge rides actually feel like?
The husky run is fast and energetic: the dogs pull hard and you feel the speed across the snow. The reindeer sledge is calmer and more gliding. Reindeer move steadier and the ride is smoother. Both are 500 meters, so neither is long, but both give you the real sensation of being pulled by the animal.
How much time do I spend actually riding versus meeting the animals?
You spend roughly equal time at each farm: introduction and close contact with the animals, then the sledge ride itself. The two rides together are the highlight, but the time with the animals (learning about them and watching them up close before you ride) is part of what makes the experience stick.
Will I be warm enough in the winter clothes provided?
Winter clothes are included and designed for the activity. You change into them on site, so you're dressed for the snow and the cold. The rides are short enough that you won't be standing still in the cold for long stretches.
Can I bring a camera or phone to take photos during the rides?
You can bring a camera or phone, but photography accessories like tripods or mounts are not included. The guide can help you get shots of the animals and the farms, but you'll need to manage your own device during the sledge rides.
