Wady Elgemal Park Tour Marsa Alam: Snorkel Mangroves
Coral reefs and mangrove lagoons in one morning, without arranging the route yourself
A guided snorkeling tour from Marsa Alam to Wady Elgemal National Park covers three beaches in seven hours: an hour in the water at Hankurab Beach exploring coral and fish, a walk through the mangrove trees of Wadi El Qulaan, and lunch cooked fresh on site. The guide leads the snorkeling, the vehicle handles the 70-kilometer drive south, and all gear is provided.
The experience
The tour starts with a drive 70 kilometers south to Hankurab Beach, also called Sharm El Lulli. You spend an hour snorkeling in the coral reefs that surround Wady Elgemal National Park, where hundreds of fish species and colorful coral formations fill the water. The snorkeling equipment is provided, and a guide leads the session.
After the reef, you travel 8.5 kilometers to Wadi El Qulaan, where mangrove trees grow in shallow water. You walk through the lagoon and take photographs of the landscape. Lunch is prepared fresh on the beach and served at this stop, giving you time to rest before the return drive.
The tour runs seven hours total and includes an air-conditioned vehicle, bottled water, snacks, snorkeling gear and a guide who speaks English. You can book from Hurghada or from Marsa Alam itself, depending on where you are staying. National park fees are separate.
